NCR loaded tickets help fans at Metricon Stadium see more of the game
First deployment in Australia drives loyalty and speeds up service so fans can get back to their seats on time
GOLD COAST, Australia – NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR) today announced the successful implementation of its loaded ticket solution at Metricon Stadium on Australia’s Gold Coast.
The innovative system, branded ‘PrePlay’ by the venue, enables fans to purchase their match tickets with a preloaded monetary value that can be quickly redeemed at food and beverage outlets throughout the 27,500-capacity stadium.
By removing the need for match-goers to pay in cash and receive change, the NCR loaded ticket solution provides a better stadium experience by speeding up service and reducing queues for fans seeking refreshment during the game.
“We are proud to be the very first stadium in Australia to offer this cutting-edge cashless system to our customers,” said David Bennett, Stadium Manager, Metricon Stadium. “This solution enhances the match-day experience and gives customers an easy way to quickly make their purchases and get back to their seats.”
The solution is fully integrated into the venue’s existing NCR Venue Manager, which gives real-time sales information from every point-of-sale (POS) terminal in the stadium’s 25 ‘Preplay’ food and beverage outlets. NCR Venue Manager enables the stadium to accurately report, analyze and forecast sales, which helps reduce wastage and keep costs down.
Nick Wagnitz, general manager hospitality, NCR Australia, said, “As the 2013 AFL Premiership Season approaches, fans can look forward to seeing more of the game as Metricon Stadium and its food service provider, Michael O’Brien Catering, deliver a new and more enjoyable stadium experience.”
The NCR loaded ticket solution has already been widely adopted throughout the USA and Europe, where event venues have seen an increase in sales and a decrease in wait times at concession stands.
