NCR loaded tickets give fans a new experience at Suncorp Stadium
Innovative cashless payments set to increase speed of service
BRISBANE, Australia – NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR) today announced it has successfully deployed its loaded ticket solution at Suncorp Stadium, Queensland’s premier sports and outdoor concert venue.
The innovative system will enable fans to preload their match tickets or membership cards with a monetary value that can be quickly redeemed for merchandise, food and beverages at outlets throughout the 52,500-seater stadium.
By simply scanning a barcode on the event ticket and removing the need to use credit cards or pay with cash and receive change, the NCR loaded ticket solution provides a better stadium experience by speeding up service and reducing queues for fans seeking refreshment during the game.
Suncorp Stadium will work with its anchor tenants, the Brisbane Broncos, the Queensland Reds and Brisbane Roar FC, to offer loaded tickets to their respective members in the coming months.
“The loaded ticket concept is completely new to Australia and we are proud to be one of the very first venues to offer this service,” said Alan Graham, general manager, Suncorp Stadium.
“Not only do loaded tickets reduce queue times and increase the speed of service, they eliminate the need to carry extra cash or credit cards,” he said. “It’s also a reward for the loyal members of the clubs that play their home games at Suncorp Stadium.”
As well as making sales transactions faster so match-goers can get back to their seats on time, the NCR cashless payment system can help drive loyalty by enabling stadium operators to offer extra value on food and beverages when prepaid and loaded onto event tickets at the time of purchase.
The solution is fully integrated into the venue’s existing NCR Venue Manager, which gives the stadium real-time sales information from every one of the 280 NCR point-of-sale (POS) terminals in its 24 food and beverage outlets and 32 public bars. NCR Venue Manager enables the stadium to accurately report, analyze and forecast sales, which helps reduce wastage and keep costs down.
“Australian sports and music fans want their stadium experience to be enjoyable and hassle-free,” said Nick Wagnitz, general manager hospitality, NCR Australia. “The NCR loaded ticket solution offers speed, convenience and great value for Suncorp Stadium’s loyal club supporters.”
More than 200 stadiums and arenas around the world use NCR’s venue management solutions to streamline operations and serve customers better.
